Daniel Susiku was born and raised in Zambia’s Eastern Province, near the world-famous South Luangwa National Park. Growing up in this wildlife-rich region sparked a lifelong passion for nature, conservation, and the African bush.

In the late 1980s, Daniel moved to Barotseland (Western Province), where he completed his secondary education. After high school, he relocated to Kariba, a town on the Zambia–Zimbabwe border, where he gained valuable experience on Lake Kariba. There, he worked alongside his cousin, a houseboat captain, learning the art of boating and hospitality on the water.

Daniel’s journey in tourism began at Gwabi Lodge in the Lower Zambezi, where he worked as a campsite caretaker and handyman. His dedication soon led him to Chiawa Camp in 2001—one of Africa’s top-rated safari camps—where he started as a casual worker, handling security, dishwashing, and game drive spotting. Despite his humble beginnings, Daniel's passion and work ethic stood out.

Recognizing his potential, Grant Cummings, owner of Chiawa Camp, personally mentored and sponsored Daniel to attend an intensive guiding course in South Africa. This was the turning point in his career.

With now over 17 years of experience in the tourism industry, Daniel has worked as a senior safari guide, head guide, and later as an operations manager, acquiring multiple professional qualifications along the way. He is also a respected trainer of aspiring guides across Zambia, sharing his deep bush knowledge, ethics, and love for wildlife.

Driven by purpose and vision, Daniel founded his own company, Ingwe Collective, a proudly Zambian safari brand rooted in conservation, community, and authentic wilderness experiences.

We look forward to your stay.
